I was driving home tonight while listening to our Sunday night blues show on public radio, a show hosted by the same volunteer for 40 years. He played a Memphis Minnie tune with a wild, joyous piano behind her. At the end, he said "I know Chris Campbell is out there listening and waiting foe me to ID the piano player. It was Black Bob Hudson." I just reminded him by email that the very first time I inquired about a piano player behind a named singer, the answer was the same--Black Bob.
