Hello. I’m Mark. I live in Western Washington. My daughter spotted a “Gem” on the side of the road with a free sign. A Motorola SK80CW. She has wanted to obtain a vintage cabinet style turntable, and have it in working. And she indeed stumble across the first part. But it needs a lot of TLC. I’ll list all of that elsewhere. (Probably in the found treasures section). But I’ve never tackled a project like this. The unit is probably from the early 1960s. I was born in 1969, but was more mechanical than electronic oriented.
So I’ll be seeking a lot of guidance in some very easy to understand terms. Thanks in advance.

Happy to do it. Thanks for the updates. I hope you will get answers to your questions and that you enjoy the forum.

We have a Motorola board you might want to post about your stereo. That might let it be seen by folks who are primarily interested in that brand. I would be happy to move your "help needed" post to the Motorola board, if you would like. It's up to you, it's fine like it is.
