Walter Ostanek....Polka party

Polka music is something I enjoy when we go to Leelanau County in Michigan, and get to visit the Polish settlement. There is a polka band in every garage, it seems, and polka music is played for any occasion. Lawrence Welk called the polka "happy music". I enjoy the music and also enjoy watching elderly farmers kick up their heels while dancing the polka. It is a beautiful dance and brings tears to my eyes when I see it well done. Walter Ostanek is probably as close to Frankie Yankovic and his Yanks as you will find. He plays a concertina like Yankovic did. You can tell his band is into what they are doing.
