FS...Cleaning out the shop
I have a number of items surplus to my needs. Per the rules, I'll post a price, but don't let that stop you. If you need any of these items, we can make a deal.
*I have a number of 3" speaker cones, gaskets and voice coils that are for the in-dash GM speakers of the 1970's. I used one of the kits to recone the speaker in my Heathkit signal tracer, so there are other uses. $10 for all plus shipping.
* Brand new Radio Shack 4X10 speakers. Four available. $20 for all four plus shipping.
*Shure Brothers "Command" microphone. On a stand like you would use on a table or desk. $10 plus the ride.
*several used speakers of all sizes from transistor radio size to 12". Lots of 6" round Toshiba speakers. Two walls of my shop are lined with used speakers.
*Tubes. LOTS of radio tubes. No TV stuff. Not a lot of "audio" tubes like 6L6 and that stuff. I have several 6V6's that are okay for radio use or for single ended amp use. Nothing matched. All used. I have several 6SN7's. LOTS of the AA5 stuff. Hundreds of 35W4, 50C5's. I saved the radio and audio stuff when I had the auction. I should have let it all go. If I can't sell this stuff and not make enemies doing it, I'll toss it. The volume is simply overwhelming and I've decided to clean house. I have thousands of tubes. I hope somebody can use them. I haven't counted them and I'm not going to make lists. Let me know what you need and we'll take it from there. I'll leave the price open on these. We'll work together and come up with something we can both live with.
* Buick tube car radios. 1950-1959. No '57-'58. These are all good radios. Some have reconed speakers. One is a '55 Selectronic (Wonderbar). Cheap. I don't want to toss them. They are heavy, so shipping will be the killer. The 1954-1956 Buick Sonomatic radios were arguably one of the best AM radios ever built. These are remnants from my restoration shop. Converting them to run on line voltage would make a dandy shop radio....
I have other stuff, including radios that I'll probably sell. Pictures available on request.

IF the Radio Shack speakers are 8 ohm, I'll take all 4,
unless someone needs a couple of them.

I believe they are 8 ohm. I'll get some pictures and verify that. Thanks for your inquiry. If they are 8 ohm, they are yours. I have a 5" and maybe a 6" as well if you would be interested in those.

I also have a couple of small buckets of fuses. I have lots of the "fractional watt" fuses like they use in TV sets. Some of these came from my stepdad's TV repair shop. He passed in 1987. I won't use all of these in several lifetimes, so I'd be willing to share. Let me know if you are interested. I can do some pictures if that will help.

Mr. Mogul, here are pictures of the speakers. They are 8 ohm.

Re: FS...Cleaning out the shop
It caught my eye initially because the Chevy uses a 4x10, but going by memory (always dangerous) it's a shallow speaker with a small magnet for clearance, and it also may be ca. 10 ohms to keep the output transistor happy. My manual-tuned radio is hybrid, tubes & output transistor, but the pushbutton model is all transistor. I need to take that one out and recap it because it sounds crappy.

Darn it... I really could have used those about a month ago... On mine the foam had deteriorated away so I got some new foam surrounds for them and the ones they sent were a bit too small so I had to improvise and do some cutting of the foam to make them fit... new ones would have been nice... maybe next time I will think to ask on the forum here before I try to fix old stuff myself

Re: FS...Cleaning out the shop
I have a quantity of knobs. Chicken foot, test equipment, TV, some radio and miscellaneous who-knows-what knobs. I have at least a partial set of Admiral TV knobs the TV guys like, but I'm not sure which controls they fit. I have the market cornered on Zenith knobs like are found on Zenith TV sets, behind the door on the front of the set. The ones that slide in and out so you can manipulate the controls. I have white ones and gray ones. If anybody needs a knob, send me a PM. I'll be glad to check and see if I have what you need.
I also have a collection of tubes I should have sold at auction. Major mistake. I sold the TV tubes, but I saved ALL of my audio and radio tubes. I have thousands, more than I will ever need. I'd like to see someone get some good out of these. I'm not going to take them to a swap meet and let somebody chisel me on price. I'm not concerned about money, per se, but would like to see you guys have them if you can use them. I won't list types here, PM me if you need something. The "big" audio tubes, 6BQ5, that kind of thing is in short supply. I have a good supply of 6V6 GT's. Most are used, none are matched, but would work well in a single-ended setup or would be better than nothing for a flipper project. I have lots of 6SN7's. I'm not going to put these on ebay. I may advertise some on ARF, but if I don't find a home for these, I'm going to toss them. Sorry, but too much stuff is beginning to be a burden. I'm at the age where the stuff I have held on to for all these years needs to find a new home. I have enough AA5 radio tubes to last all the members of this forum three lifetimes. 50C5, 35W4, 35Z5, 50L6. And OZ4 radio tubes. I have quite the supply of 1950's Buick radios. I personally feel these are some of the best radios ever built. They have 6V6 P-P audio on a 6X9 speaker. My intention was to convert them to household current, then sell them as a novelty item. This will never happen. I don't want to send them to the landfill, so if you would like an old Buick radio to tinker with, let me know. I think there is a '55 Selectronic in the bunch still.
If you guys need any of this stuff, and more on top of this, let me know. I think there is a tub full of fuses out there somewhere.......

Re: FS...Cleaning out the shop
I'd like to stock up on AA5 tubes and maybe a couple 6V6s, but will need some time. I leave tonight to drive downstate part way, then on to SE Michigan tomorrow for a celebration for people admitted to practice in 1975. That includes me. Several people I haven't seen in forever will be there so I signed up. ll leave shortly; won't be back here until next week.

Re: FS...Cleaning out the shop
After driving downstate for the big 50th year event on Thursday, I was out of touch until getting back to home base Monday because my tablet, used as a hot spot for internet at the cottage, died. Then back at home and at work I've been trying to catch up. The new headlight assembly and side light for post-deer repairs arrived while I was gone. Tonight I had to repair the side light socket. I did not realize that it was broken apart until after I had ordered the big parts, and I did not want to pay another shipping charge for a $4 part. So tonight before the Tuesday night movie I carved away the plastic to expose the conductors on each of the two separated sections and soldered wire between them. .
I drove my sister's Ford Escape from Bay City to Plymouth. She offered it, and it's newer than the truck, and really I was worried that my temporary headlight cover might not survive the 80 mph+ speeds on SE Michigan freeways.

Greg:
Can you put together a package of AA5 tubes, a couple sets, plus some extras of rectifiers and audio output, 35 or 50 V as you may have available? Are yours mostly octals or miniatures? Any Loktals? Toss in a couple 6SN7s for audio amps and a couple 6v6s? I've got a little commercial-grade RCA amp that had matched 6V6s until I let something fall on one of them. I figure if I have a few to work with I can find a pair that's at least close to each other. Work up a bill and send it along. It would be nice t have extra tubes sitting around for those times when there's one tube between me and a working radio

Re: FS...Cleaning out the shop
Do you want octal AA5 tubes or miniature, or both? I think I have some of the low-filament-current tubes such as 36AM3 and the 32ET5, 18FY6 that stuff if you need that. I will see what I have and compile a list and then send you a PM....

Any of the old 1.5 V and 3 V tubes for battery portables?

I should have those, Chris. I saved all my radio and audio tubes. I'll look when I get to my stash. I have the AA5 tubes more accessible. I may have to dig for the low-voltage stuff.

Re: FS...Cleaning out the shop
I've got a late 30s Philco portable with 1.5 V tubes. Long ago when I was young and stupid, instead of just plain dim-witted, I thought the tube filaments were in series and shot 6V at them. Oops. I vowed that some day i would replace them. I'll have to look up the tube complement.

Re: FS...Cleaning out the shop
I am really careful with those 1.5 volt tubes. If you have a good battery in your ohm meter, you can burn out the filaments just by checking continuity across them. I was taught not to test 1.5 volt tubes unless I REALLY trusted my tube tester to put out the correct filament voltage on all settings. Tube substitution while keeping your fingers crossed may be the best way to test them. I don't have any radios that use 1.5 volt tubes, so if I find some good ones, they are yours. Let me know what numbers you need. 1R4, 1S4, 1T4 and 3V4 are the typical miniature numbers, but check and we'll go from there. Yours may be old enough they are octal/Loktals.

Re: FS...Cleaning out the shop
The Philco used octals, if memory serves me, but some miniatures would be good for the couple T-Os I have.
