This is the big clear channel AM station out of Los Angeles. I have been listening to their coverage of the disastrous wildfires currently happening in the LA area. Really heart-breaking developments, people losing their homes and having their lives disrupted. One area one of the reporters was covering had homes up to six million dollars in value in jeopardy. Many celebrities have lost their homes.
KNX gives their frequency as 97.1 FM, but my old 1935 Truetone D-925 is obviously an AM radio. I don't know their exact AM frequency, but it's between 1000 and 1100 khz on the dial, probably 1060 or so. Of course, I can't get that station in the daytime, but it was coming in like they were broadcasting from across the street here this evening. I haven't had much of an opportunity to do any DX-ing since I have been living here, so this was an experience for me.

Nope. I am using the ceiling fan for an antenna. I started building the antenna you posted about awhile back.
