Seems happy with new caps and the record changer is now done.

That is a nice one, Brett. All the dust on the chassis means nobody has been in there fooling around. Those are the ones that build out the best. ;) ;)

I like the cane speaker baffle front on it.

Lends warmth to the console design.

I have some of that cane grille cloth, used, if you'd like some. Wonder what Admiral used the 6AY11 Compactron tube for in that tuner? It must have had something to do with the Multiplex circuit. Decoder and 19khz amps, maybe? The ten-pin-tube-in-a-nine-pin-tube-socket 6C9 would be the FM oscillator, the 6BE6 the AM oscillator, the rest if fairly conventional. I parted out an Admiral stereo that had 50HK6 audio. It had 12" speakers, but absolutely NO bottom end at all. It was in an aircraft-carrier cabinet.

The changer looks just like the one I had in my first record player. It was an Admiral little mono unit. I think it was a one tube wonder with a 4" speaker. It did have a tone control, and the cabinet/case was nice. The changer was probably the most expensive thing, but I will have to admit it sounded pretty good for what it was, but I was 11.

Changer is Ensign brand. Looks VM on top..underneath the mechanism is different.

Console really sounds nice post recap, deoxit, tube check, etc.

Again, interesting and very simplistic. Does not look to be the quality of a VM. Where were they made?
