Re: 1958 Continental
My best suggestion would be to take that grille to either a Sherwin-Williams paint store or an automotive paint store to see if they could match that paint, then mix you up a spray bomb. You might also check to see what Walmart has in the line of paint that might be close. I use their craft paint on little projects and like it. I used it to repaint the tone arm on that little Magnavox record player I redid. I used it to paint the changer base in the GE stereo I redid. They have a pretty good selection, gloss and matte, big containers and tiny ones for 54 cents. Check in the paint department as well to see if they have a spray bomb with a color that would work. If you get a color that is close, but some different from the other grill, you might paint both grills so they match. We used to do that when we restored a car. Good luck.

Re: 1958 Continental
Hello Guy's. After looking all over for a good color match, I was driving by Blick art store on capital hill here in Seattle. I was in my pickup so it was Impossible to find a parking spot so I continued on my way. However I had to check it out so I got the door panel and I made the trek to capital hill by the train. I have only used it a couple of times but its a subway under Seattle. You can take it to various stations and pop up in neighborhoods. Its pretty cool ! I walked over to the station (4 blocks) paid 6 dollars for a round trip ticket got on the train and got off at capital hill walked a couple of blocks to the Art store. There it was in the locked up shelves. a "Montana paint metallic gold 1050" perfect match to the edge of the panel I had with me. There were 5 or 6 shades to choose from. One issue I had was the can was only half usable as it ran out of propellant. a couple of days later I had to make the trek again to get a second can (it also ran out of propellant). It turns out the Metallic is really fine and the medium its in dries to a satin finish just like the original. photo is when it was still a bit wet. Hydro

Re: 1958 Continental
Thanks guys, The photos make it look extra great. But it still is pretty eye popping in person. That Black and gold is a great combo.
Today I cleaned the interior of the external speaker and mounted the grill. Hydro

Re: 1958 Continental
SO the color is varying alot in those photo's My camera in the phone is acting up. so I took a few photos with my iPad which are more clear but the contrast is brighter. Thing is the actual color is in between the two. I was having a hard time with the gold that you could buy in the hardware store it was like the golds were made with a lemon yellow base and was just not anywhere close to the gold used on the console. Now I plan on doing the touchup on the black !

That is beautiful, Hydro, great job. I love the back/gold contrast and the black/gold swirl in the top.
