A real shame.....
A friend bought a collection of Artie Shaw 78 rpm records in almost new condition, including the album that housed them. He mailed them to me. The collection arrived in pieces. Every record was in pieces. This is a real shame. I asked him not to mail them, bring them in person when he got the chance. He winters out here, so he could just bring them when he drove out. I feel horrible about it. It looks to me like the package got dropped on its edge. The old brittle records didn't stand a chance.

One record was "Begin The Beguine" my favorite Artie Shaw song.

I have that one as well, but played so much it sounds like the typical 78... especially if the ones you were getting were like new ....

I am pretty sure I have that 78 as well, but not sure of the condition as I have not seen or played it in a long time.
