Those pictures are from a couple of different angles. Almost invisible in the second one. I don't know why my pictures load sideways in the posts but are correct when clicked...

Try this. Mix up some shellac and linseed oil. Take a pad or ball of cotton cloth, dip a bit into the mixture, then rub rub rub on the bad spot. Repeat as necessary.

It looks good to me, Charles. Can I see the flaw, yes, but I need to be looking for it. Let it go for now, see just how much it bothers you and if it really bugs you then you can always have it fixed.

My goodness, that's a pretty cabinet. It looks good to me. You have to look "just right" to even see any flaw at all. Great job! :D

Thanks! I really love this console. If my CG was the Modern cabinet I'm sure I would have kept it. I'm having trouble letting the Fisher go because the cabinet is so beautiful....

Why are you letting the Fisher go? Remember, there is always room for one more. ;)

Good question Bill! It's living in my storage unit currently. It's still in need of electrical restoration and I have no idea if the reel to reel can be repaired. I did remove the Dual 1009 that was in it and put in a Dual 1019 that I had. I was playing the Zenith the other day (it's in the basement) and my wife said "that sounds great. Maybe we should put it upstairs". That would free up the basement for the Fisher. Hmmm...

Charles, I like the fact that the wife likes music and the sound of the Zenith and especially the fact that she thinks enough of it to want it upstairs. Would it replace something already there that you are now listening too? And as a bonus the Fisher could then move from storage into the house. It's a win/win all around. ;) :)

There is a sideboard sitting where the Zenith would go. The sideboard probably would end up in the basement but I could make the Fisher fit also if necessary...
