WTB magnavox speaker switch 59-60 Continental

Post: # 21636Post Hydrolastic »

Hello looking for a three position switch for a 59-60 continental and I think imperial. It has the early round plug if you have the Bezel for it that would be good also. Photo of another three position bezel and a two position switch. I know confusing. But just need a three position switch and the bezel for it.

Hello Guys. Looking at the switch on the Sams I realize that I need the 160297-1 3 position switch (with bezel). Doesn't matter if it has a 8 pin or molex plug. There has to be one in the bottom of your parts boxes !

When it comes to switches, my parts box is empty. Not to be negative, Hydro, it took me about 6 months to get a volume pot for my Imperial. I was determined to find one and I finally did, and I am so glad I did as the Imperial is the best sounding console I own. Of course, my next hurdle was the power switch that allowed the changer to shut everything down after the last record fail. It is attached on the backside of the function control, and I special. I had no luck with that and ended up doing bypass surgery adding an external switch on the back of the Imperial just to the left of the lid, it's barely visible and it works great. There is always away around things if one has the patience and puts a little creativity into it.

For the bezel, you could make an aluminum plate that would be close, then make a decal for it for the markings. The place where Bill got his Imperial parts is probably your best bet for getting the parts you need, although it will take a bit of time, maybe more than a bit of time. Patience would be a virtue, but it might be the only source where you could get something that would work.
A good leader is someone who can tell you where to go, and make you look forward to the trip.

Never allow someone who has done nothing to advise you on anything.

agree , a nice brushed plate and decals are all you need , you can match the font of the lettering to the original pretty easy
