Phono balance control Magnavox bi-amps
I'm having a bit of a brain block. If one wanted to eliminate the balance control on the treble control shaft in the tuner of a Magnavox stereo, how would that be done? My idea is to jumper across the control so it would act like it isn't there. And what effect would that have? The phono balance control in my IMperial is not as good as I thought it was. Very dirty with an intermittently-weak Channel 1. Moving it seems to have little to no effect. I don't want to go thru the hassle of replacing it.

Not familiar with the set , but one would think the center post of the balance control is the input ... just jumper the middle to the high side to bypass the control...

Won't you need a couple identical resistors to replace the resistance that the old pot provided in the center position? Look at the schematic; divide the pot resistance by two, use two resistors with a "center tap."
