Nice Zenith Console Great Price

Post: # 21731Post Hi-Fi-Mogul »

This model appears to be 1959-60 vintage.

V-M Cobramatic changer and that nice control
layout.

Too far from me, and no room at the inn.

The price is certainly right. Why can't something like that be local? It is always on the other side of the world.... ;)

It looks like one of Zenith's deluxe stereos and in a nice simple MCM cabinet.

Ah Texas! a very appropriate 1959 SFD 2560 for a biiiig living room with no basement  .

I wish I had that cabinet for Three(!) other EA maple Zeniths we have like that, they would be sold already!!!

That is a 20+20w push pull amp, probably 7B30 or later version.

I figured it was something like, Dave, and I agree, that would sell much faster than Early American except I have a soft spot for Maple cabinets that are done right like our RCA Brandywine Home Theaters.

Thats the same 9B26 tuner/preamp I have on my bench now for a replacement volume control. Good OEM controls were a concentric shaft pot from CTS, or this type I'm replacing that seized up and became unusable. More on that in a Zenith post.

Also similar is the 9B24 (from an EA maple SF-2565) that needs an IF transformer due to silver mica disease, which no fun AT ALL - FM is all crackles :x
