Zenith console divorce situation

Post: # 16321Post Firedome »

Needed a new system in my "office" to replace the HHScott that is moving to the LR. So the Electronics were "divorced" from a Zenith console. Though fairly compact there's no room for a console of any size in that little 9 x 12 room, the cabinet was beat but everything was saved and re-used: Dave got the 12" co-ax speakers, and Cobramatic player (it had no tuner) and I'm using the amp + preamp for power, a Gemini DJ CD player for tunes, and very efficient 95dB/1W/1m Klipsch compact bookshelf speakers. Not a pretty installation, but the WAF isn't relevant since it's not in the LR, lol.
So it still lives, just in separate pieces! lol

This was a freebie out of CL's "Free" section, with an ugly cabinet. The owner was moving out of state in 2 days when I got there and said she was about ready to have the trash folks take it away. They'll take anything left at the curb here for free... sofas, mattresses, furniture, a nice service for people moving away and landlords. It was bound for the dump, but now the good stuff can still be used, still needs a bit of de-bugging but has potential! I've rescued at least 4 free/curbside dump bound units in 10 yrs here.
