Re: 1968 Zenith YT960

Gorgeous unit but YIKES!!! I wouldn't pay that for a Fisher President.

Re: Fisher? With Dual Turntable $75 Chicago

Agree Custom Electra. You can see it on the tuner in the second photo. Mid 60s like '65 or 66.

Yeah... 4" thick shag carpet. Bet there's orange yarn wound around the wheels.

Re: two rare fishers up at same time ?

These were like the most "economical" fisher all-in-ones so they really weren't that rare. Find one with the avaliable table they had and throw in a pair of WS1 auxiliary speakers and you'd have something.

Lot more portable than a president but not worth those prices.

It is a changer. It uses an umbrella style spindle and can play up to 10 33s. Can't mix sizes.

Elac 10h

Any opinions on this changer? I currently have the Garrard type A 2 hooked to the 500B but Fisher had an elac 10F they used in consoles and there's one available. Looks far simpler than the Garrard but not sure it's worth the effort for little to no benefit.

Re: Les Paul & Mary Ford

Les was an instrumental genius. The first great electric guitarist and experimenter. He was active to the end. I seem to remember he was still doing sets at Birdland in NYC until covid shut down everything.

Not sure that's a magnecord.

I remember they'd play the National Anthem every night before signing off. I remember hearing it after Carson went off then it went to test pattern or snow.

Re: Edison discs

I have my Uncle Louie's upright Edison from around 1919. Of the 40 or so records, over 30 lost their labels.

I know I have a copy of Barney Google and Yes, we have no bananas but most I can't recognize. And some have huge chips in them.

It was my first oompah...

Re: Restore-a-Finish

Works well on lacquer and shellac finishes. I just treated the doors on the 62 cadillac with it. There was a little lacquer whitening that it got rid of.

Re: Farm equipment collectors

I remember going to the "put put" shows as a kid. My mom's family had a farm up to the mid 60s and, when a piece of equipment outlived its usefulness, it was stored in a barn. Lot of it is still there... Seeing the versatility of a tractor is really amazing. I remember bringing in the hay....
