Old JVC/ Nivco
I thought this was pretty unique looking , so I made her an offer , which she turned down... if it had FM radio, it might be worth it, but just AM/SW ?... in my area both bands are dead so it is just a glorified record player to me...I wish her good luck in selling https://www.facebook.com/marketpla...

Re: Sears Silvertone Console Shelbyville, Tn. Free
Great units .... except for the crescent changers ... junk IMO, I wish I could find a good used one ....have an extra VM 1500 changer that I might try to swap the crescent out of in my silvertone... most of the under deck parts are made out of plastic ... and once they WOW out on their bearings they...

I did use the place inline button ...it didn't matter,,, I actually numbered them 1.2.3. figuring the site is looking for a sequence ....and it still posted them just the opposite 3,2,1, ...and sideways , except the last picture which is right side up... why is this one posted right, and the rest ar...

Just for fun
I pushed the 3D printer to print the largest print it could physically handle , whole process took just shy of 33 hours ,,, pics show beginning to final product.... I hate submitting photos especially trying to display them in order... doesn't matter what you number them or name them ...the site put...

Re: Fisher's Sony r2r
If you have a scope, it would be handy to trace the signal right from the heads, the switch looks like it has seen better days...inject a signal to the center post on the volume controls on each channel , then you could narrow it down ...

Re: 1978 Magnavox Console R344 Chassis Goes Stand-Alone
Wow , nice restoration ... SS Magnavox circuit boards are built to give you room to actually get in and replace components... I wish the Japanese stuff was the same , currently working on a Sony TC-366 R2R all the caps are junk , and the whole record /playback board is the size of 2 sticks of butter...

Re: SK111W-FMA restore
My Fisher Regent blew a 5" midrange a few years ago , when I replaced it I saw that the woofer was wired out of phase... I too thought it was a mistake , then I removed the cover on the other channel and that woofer was out of phase as well, I read on the Fisher forum on audio karma , that this...

Re: VM 1245 for my Motorola SK-111 console
here is an example of when the printer works.... and when it doesn't .....printed up some reels for the R2R... some came out great ... others not so much, the half reel is an example of when the foundation layer fails to stick to the bed... also the box in the picture failed right at the end of the ...

Re: Show me your soldering tools !
I have one of those solder stations from China it works ok, but it seems to take a while to melt even though the temp says it is over 300 C ...my fall back is my trusty Weller 140 watt gun , I also have a desoldering gun or a solder sucker ( I love that thing ) makes quick work of removing component...

Re: VM 1245 for my Motorola SK-111 console
3D printers sound cool, i would love to watch one work sometime. Bill They are cool.... when they work right... setting them up to print is a exercise in patience .... the plastic injector nozzle has to be perfect across the whole hotbed about .01mm or the thickness of an ordinary sheet of paper , ...

Re: Idler wheel
Yep, the wintergreen trick doesn't last very long. The dent never worked itself out, probably was burned in, and it was evident by a regular thumping in the bass. I removed the wheel and noticed that it was hardening up again, but it still ran without slipping. I sanded down the dent with a flat pi...

Re: VM 1245 for my Motorola SK-111 console
Ah yes ... the bane of all VM changers... the idler wheel .... wintergreen and alcohol does give you a temporary fix but it will harden up again... but I can't blame you ... with the increase in prices for them and if it will be mostly a shelf queen, the price is not worth the repair ... I have been...

Re: Capitol record player
The photo looks impressive but it does not show the guts. There was no link to Facebook, were you intending on sending one? I do not thing 100 bucks is too much, but a lot depends on what's in the center cabinet. Bill the Facebook ad had a bunch of items for sale the picture he had only shows the s...

Capitol record player
they are asking 100 bucks for it and the matching speakers what do you think of the price? it is just a record player with a VM 1200 changer in it , no idea what the amplifier is
