Re: Zenith Extended Stereophonic - SFF2606

Yup, single ended, 5 tubes total and "stereo expander" model amp. Smallish output transformers too. Not sure where they get the 20 watts and only driving 10" woofers and one pair of 5" tweeters so 4 speakers total.

Re: Zenith Extended Stereophonic - SFF2606

Hey Dave. I have that exact model, minus the tuner, sitting in storage with the same issue. Mine too has a blown PT which I have posted about a couple of years ago and I believe you even offered one you had that would work in my Zenith. My cabinet is not in that good and one of the woofers cones is ...

Re: New Vista RCA VGT 90 W K

Hey Matt. That fact that you have two channels but not equal in volume I am going to suggest that you give those controls another cleaning and don't forget the speaker switch. It sometimes takes several cleaning before things come back to life. If after several cleanings things are still off balance...

Re: Marvin AM/FM Record Player Louisville, Ky. $40

That is nice looking, kind of Early Americanish. I would guess tube and the changer looks like a Garrard. I guess one can't really go wrong for 40 bucks.

Re: SK111W-FMA restore

Matt, dipping your toe is pretty much where we all started at some point in our lives. Some, started young, others like me started in my retirement years which makes it a little harder to get the learning curve down. I was speaking totally about myself for the learning curve thing. As I have mention...

Pioneer PL-50 turntable

I know this is not a changer but I would like to throw this out there to see if anyone has any ideas as to why this Pioneer Pl-50 is doing what it is doing. With the help of Vinylengine I found this link: https://www.vinylengine.com/library/pioneer/pl-50.shtml Also for those of you that are on AK: h...

Re: SK111W-FMA restore

That was me that said "what is next" so I guess I started the trip down off topic lane. Sorry. I believe you mentioned that you are, or were going to work on the 78 changer. That Olympic should sound great playing 78's. I have a few friends that do nothing but listen to 78's and do not eve...

Re: Old JVC/ Nivco

Interesting Mr. Mogul about the changer. It sure looks like a VM from the top but I guess seeing the schematic is the true test of who really made it.

Re: Old JVC/ Nivco

I reminds me of the Delmonico brand record players and kind of like the German shinny ones too. VM changer, that is good but not what I would expect.

Thanks, Chris. A two tube radio blows my mind and it can pull in a station that far away. Amazing!

Chris, which one of your radios consistently pulls that station in and what number on the dial?

Re: SK111W-FMA restore

It looks good and even though I am listening to it on crappy computer speakers it sounds pretty good too. I still say all Motorola FM stereo lights work weird. Good job, what's your next project. ;) :)

Re: VM 1245 for my Motorola SK-111 console

Idler wheels and motor mounts are a must if one wants it to work like the factory had intended. Sometimes you can get away without replacing the idler, but motor mounts not so much.

I am not sure what they are for, but my RCA Home Theater has them too along with other components attached to them. Head phones would make sense.
