Nice V-M, Mr. Mogul, and looks very similar to my V-M 1280. If yours sounds as good as mine you have a very nice machine there.

It does look like a 49, I guess I might be a decade off. Thanks, Danny.

Re: Sears Silvertone table radio, model 5021
Thanks, Rex, that is most helpful. The funny thing, it is working!! I thought it was repaired, until I put it back in the cabinet. It was even playing in the cabinet, until I put the back on and then the kiss of death struck. While acting up in the cabinet, I started to poke around with my plastic t...

Re: Sears Silvertone table radio, model 5021
Sort of, but the solder did run over the actual connection. I have been trying to work on it today but keep getting disturbed. Maybe after supper.

Re: B&K 1077 TV analyzer
Are these "resistors" normal resistors? Have the colored stripes on them? If so, is there an extra stripe to indicate the tolerance? Like none = 20% and red = 2% kind of thing. I would think diagnostic equipment would have a tight tolerance using "red" or even tighter if there is...

Re: Sears Silvertone table radio, model 5021
I actually thought of that. After 60 plus years of heat and flexing it is a wonder it works at all. The PC board sags a little
in the middle which is where the interlock is located. The 2 output tubes are located to the left. I will get back to it sometime this weekend.

Greg, from your comment I have two people in mind, either way the end result is the same.

Re: Sears Silvertone table radio, model 5021
Actually, after pretty much soldering just about every connection on the PC board it is playing just fine. I slipped it back in the cabinet and it still plays. The next test is putting the back, back on. That is usually the death step.

Re: Plenty To Do In Retirement
I am so sorry to hear about your eye problems. I can say cataract surgery is a breeze, had both done and everything is much clearer and brighter. I have also had a detached retina and an eye specialist nailed that back in place using lazier technology. Did your eye doctor offer a solution for your r...

Sears Silvertone table radio, model 5021
I have been working on a Sears Silvertone table radio that was built by Arvin for Sears, chassis number 132-80001. It came in two model, 5020 which was a walnut plastic case and model 5021, the one I have, which came in a wood Early America maple cabinet. This was definitely a TOTL radio for Sears, ...

Re: Marie Mueller's Buick
That is a great photo of Marie and her Buick. I was surprised from one time to the next that she remembered me, because the only time I would see her was at the car show and that was only once a year.
