Don't forget to check the bearing/race at the bottom of the platter.

That is an interesting unit, very modern looking and kind of high tech. I have never heard of that brand, but the tape player I recognize. Thanks for sharing, Danny.

No apologies necessary, Charles. Wall talk out loud and sometimes that helps us to figure out just what we should do. I talk to myself all the time, mostly because no understands what I am talking about including me.

I guess all of my VM changers are way before 1970, they are definitely old school in design.

Re: Assist With AMP 197-20 Please
I feel the same about the 456, pain in the butt to work on. I know the 600 series is the newest series, between the 456, F200C, and the 600. Is that the order in which Collaro made those models, or was the 456 and F200C made at the same time just at different pricing levels? The F200C and the 456 lo...

Interesting the PT is on the floor of the cabinet.
I guess what I was referring to was the cable and the flat metal that comes from the controls. I have not run across that in a VM/VM changer before.

This changer looks very similar to the Collaro 456. If I might ask, Mr. Mogul, what are the differences between the two that you have noticed?

Re: Coffee table consoles?
I have seen, both live and on the internet, all different kinds of coffee table units. Some look to be pretty junky and some are high end. One comes to mind, it is a Motorola. I believe the cabinet was by Drexel and Motorola installed one of there upper end chassis. Here's one, it is SS though. http...

Famous last words, I have heard that before, mostly from me, and it did not work.
Nice TV by the way.

Re: Greetings from a Collector in Virginia
Thank you Josh, it is good to have you with us and please post often and share any photos you might have. I like your Zenith, it is a cool style and I believe I see the corner of a vintage TV in your photo too. Collecting can be addictive, we have a saying around the forum. "There is always roo...

Re: Consumer Reports electronics evaluations
From personnel experience, reading CU and then purchasing what they suggested, and every time getting a piece of junk. In todays world, if they suggest it I would probably run and buy what they did not like or give good ratings too.

Re: Ortofon 2M Blue phono cartridge
All I can tell you is my friend Jim, the guy that engineered for Charbonneau speaker, thought highly of that brand. Looking over all of his stuff since his passing a year ago, he had a lot of Ortofon products around his house.

It will probably depend on what's under the hood. Hopefully a collector ended up with it.

Re: 1970 Zenith 169-363 aka V-M 1293
Looking at the underside of your photos makes me ask, how much of this changer was custom for Zenith by VM or did Zenith by an basic VM changer and customize it for their style?

Re: A new Toyota?
Friends that drive Toyota Rav4's just went looking at new ones. The dealer told them pretty much the same thing, if you want one you will have to pick what we have in stock ( which was only 3 ) or you don't get one. They are good vehicles but there are also other vehicles out there that are just as ...
