Welcome, Connecticut seems like one of the best markets in the country. A true honey hole. I see a lot of nice HIFI equipment on marketplace in CT.

For a second there I was nervous
Literally could not care less about the radio tuner section. I never turn it on.
I'll darken it somehow so your eye doesn't go to it. The top needs some attention too but it's gonna clean up nicely and live with the others

I think he's more of a HIFI receiver guy than a console restoration expert. Leaving the caps is half ass. He gave it a lick and a promise not a full restoration.

This little holiday flip project is getting the full work up and a new home. Not much of a find but it'll make someone happy. Kinda fugly. Better with the back trim removed. It uses their single ended 6bq5 amp 196

Stumbled onto a little HIFI honey hole. I'm more of a console guy but had been wanting to put a vintage component system together. Also grabbed the Lafayette receiver for a friend.

Re: SK111W-FMA restore
If that 9T cartridge is shot I would ask Gary if one of the cobramatic kits with the tetrad will fit this tone arm. No need for a kit, the mount holes are standard 1/2 inch wide. A Pfanstiehl P-226/228 should fit and you wouldn't have to mess with re-wiring for the Tetrad. You are correct. I think ...

Re: SK111W-FMA restore
You can try a new needle on the 9T If you're doing a full restoration I would install one of these and call it a day. https://thevoiceofmusic.com/catalog/part_detail.asp?PNumberBase=KCOBRA&SearchType=AssociatedItem&MfgName=&Categories=Zenith%20Cobra To my ear that tetrad sounds more deta...

Re: SK111W-FMA restore
Congrats. It Would be a good idea to add some padding or a furniture Dolly between the base and the garage floor or to re apply the legs. That rectangular apron it's currently resting on is not designed to support the weight of the entire cabinet. You can probably count the electrolytic caps on 1 ha...

Well, the Fisher sold, but I had already decided to go with the Moto. Unless it gets sold before this Sunday when I'm supposed to pick it up, very responsive seller, has taken several additional pictures for me, so we shall see.... Congrats. you will love that Motorola. The 3 channel separation is ...

Re: Opinions wanted on these two listings
Thanks! I would leave that Motorola piano key switch permanently in the ON position and switch it remotely via a power strip. That is a really clear sounding 3 channel with the 12" woofer and PP6V6 amp. Not quite the 15" bass monster... but still very punchy. There's only a handful of cap...

Re: Opinions wanted on these two listings
Given these 2 choices I would go with the fisher That's a stylish fisher cabinet...even tho the top looks like it needs to be refinished. Motorola's my favorite but this model has a 12" woofer instead of a 15" and tape input is likely mono not stereo There are quite a few Motorola's I woul...
