My folks had a floor set up with outlets so things could be plugged in out on the floor in the living room. They were popular in the '50's and '60's. One just doesn't think of them now. https://www.bing.com/images/search?view ... ajaxserp=0

I saw one of those Motorola coffee table stereos about 10 years ago in an antique store up north, they wanted two grand for it. It was impressive, and it sounded great, but not for me.

I knew there were floor outlets , just never saw them used much in residential homes... unless it was an upper class home ....
